Is there such a tool?

Is anyone aware of a utility that will notify you when another networked
computer is connecting to your machine, and what shared folder they are
accessing?

I've used Microsoft's Net Watcher tool, but I'd like something that will
send a pop-up to the screen, or create a 'beep' or some other flagging
mechanism.

Thanks,
Walt

i am not a fan of symantec.

however, i do recall that when
i used one of their programs
a couple of years ago, it notified
me when something was trying to
access my pc. Don't remember if
it was a firewall or somekind of
internet software.

then what was even more impressive
is that when I clicked on the pop
up with the dns of the infiltrator,
Symantec produce a map of it's
location. in this instance it was
a location in red china.

Thanks; this helps, but I wish it provided a 'beep' or a pop-up window
whenever a connection was made. I appreciate the input.

If you RIGHT-CLICK your MY COMPUTER icon and then choose MANAGE you can
expand the SYSTEM TOOLS and SHARED FOLDERS to see SESSIONS and OPEN FILES.

Thanks, this helps. I still wish a 'beep' or pop-up occurred whenever a
connection to a share was made. I appreciate the input.

Thanks for the info.
