I'm getting somewhat annoyed with the XP Shell, i was wondering if one
could replace it with the Win98 shell? Anybody know if this is possible?

Right click an empty portion of the task bar, choose properties, click the tab labeled start menu, choose classic start menu, and click apply. You can customize from there as well

.
i agree, the explorer interface is way to clunky, i
would like to have win200 explorer back in view, with
it's nice option of 'web view' that gives you a nice pie
chart of disk apce etc..., also just to get get rid of
the annoying new panes on the left side that i really
never have and never will use.
i don't want to go back to the old '95' style classic of
just icons, the 'web' pane is what i be looking for to
avail.
the standard options built into xp are way to limited in
terms of rollback through the folder options.
that leaves reverting the whole thing back to classic
style which defeats the purpose of using the new bit's
one does like.
and whats with the toolbar, it will not allow me to make
it really narrow when on the side of the screen like i
could in 2000 (the best os they have yet to make i (and
many others) beleive), when at work though they supply
the confounded os.

Thanks I know. That's not what i'm after. The taskbar emulation is not
good enough.
