After about 6 months I haven't found a solution to this:
I can't save any Office 2007 documents (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) on a folder
on a 2000 Windows Server based network with the option "Save" or "Save As..."
from my PC with Windows Vista Business.
It return me the alert message "File not saved" ("Documento non salvato" in
italian)
I can copy or delete file in any network folder using Explorer.
I am the network administrator.
I have all permissions and privileges.
Other network stations with Win XP SP2 work and save documents with Office
2003 without problems...
Any solutions?

Hmm. What about virus software, have you tried (temporarily) turning that off?
Maybe it gets in the way?

Hi, thanks for your answer,
My PC is about 6 months old and has been formatted and re-installing just
two months ago due to some other troubles, but the problem in subject was
present since its first installation on Lan and was present again after new
installation.
I have used Norton Symantec and now I use Avira Antivir: the antivir update
itself and scan the system every day and there is no particular problem.
I've just tried to disable the antivir and the Microsoft client for ISA
Server Firewall, but Office software won't save on Lan...

Pity, would have been nice. Is there some way you can monitor the drive you're
trying to save to? Also, check if there are oddly named files in the folder you
tried to save to like 327S4C6D, in other words a random combination of letters
and digits?

Hi,
in the drive where I'm trying to save to I've administrator privileges and
the hidden and system files visualization are enabled. When I try to save the
file with the same name nothing happens (simply I receive the message "File
not saved"). When I try to "Save as..." the file, in the folder where I try
this I see the file with the name I've assigned with 0 Kb dimension and
receive the usual "File not saved" message... Nothing else combination of
letters and digits appears...
Regards and Happy New Year,

In that case I suspect a network problem and/or server problem, but this is out
of my league I'm afraid.
