This thing call a news group is the screwiest thing I've ever seen ... i
don't undersand what this how and after reading all the directions still
don't understand how a newsgroup is supposed to work ... pages and pages of
posts and locations for posts ... HOWS ANYONE SUPPOSED TO GET A QUESTION
ANSWERED ... One must have to be clairvoyant to figure this out ... even
google doesn't help ... but anyway why cant' one search for help ... ??? if
you can I sure would like it if someone could tell me how ... I'm not even
sure this note will ever show up ... and I'm almost positive I'll never find
it again ...

These were the directions I followed to get started ... It still doesnt'
help one search for specifics in the posts. ...

Some screwing is done by the newsreader software you're using. OE may
have some merits but I haven't found any yet.

Take a look at

XFreeware, requires permanent connection to a newsserver. If this is a
problem you may have to use it together with HAMSTER.
Xnews allows scoring and is equipped with powerful filter functions.

Agent by Forte:
Offline newsreader. There are 2 versions and one is for free (with
reduced functions).

Mozilla, Opera, NetScape:
Designed as browsers with additional newsgroup functions. Not as
flexible as the programs above but better than OE.

Ciao, Walter

PS: If you're sharing your internet connection with other people or if
you have different mail accounts you may definitely want to take a
look into hamster. Great tool for news and mail.

More than 100,000 groups and 40 percent are used frequently.

You may rephrase your questions in
alt.usenet.software
alt.usenet.offline-reader
news.software.readers

You're a quick one...using a word like clairvoyant, yet
you can't make yourself clear. "This thing call a news
group" and "don't undersand what this how." Now come on.
Let's be reasonable. Maybe after you learn how to speak,
we can find a solution to your problem. Stop whining!!
