Is there any way to scrub Grokster and its artifacts from my system

Looks like I made a HUGE mistake by installing Grokster on my system the
other day. What a nightmare insofar as it appears to have loaded up my
laptop with a nightmare of artifacts and I have no idea of the full
compliment of garbage it installed (The first indicator was a screen full of
icons for "Casino" games, etc.).

It modified my browser, throws an annoying constant stream of pop-ups at me,
and it now takes nearly 40 minutes to log on as my hard disk spins and spins
and spins (I have NO idea what it changed to cause this).

Is there any way to remove all this garbage from my system short of
rebuilding from scratch?

Read and follow the directions these sites:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

Get and update then run frequently after checking for new updates:

After going through this, I STILL have "POP" and "Topicks Categories" on my
toolbar, which turn themselves back on after I turn them off...

The idiots who build and distribute this stuff should be PROSECUTED, IMO.
It's invasive, just like hacking into some site (which IS illegal).

billym,
Go to: http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates: "hijackthis.log")

Next, go to the below location:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

Sign in, go to the "Spyware and Hijackware Removal" section.
Press "New Topic", copy and paste hijackthis.log into your new message.
