Is there any 'news message' expiry options?

Hi

I seem to recall using an expiry option for Usenet messages in Outlook
Express. I have looked through the Windows Mail options but either there
isn't such an option, or I am somehow missing it.

Any pointers?

I think you'll find what you want there.

I've set "Purge newsgroup messages in the background" and set "Delete news
messages" to 7 days after being downloaded, and I have messages going back
to March 1st in this newsgroup. I'm not clear on what this setting actually
does. I subscribed to this newsgroup well over 7 days ago.

The behavior in Outlook Express was similar. What does "Delete news
messages" do?

Good question.
My purge/delete news settings are similar to yours, yet I see message headers
dating back to the day I installed Vista on this machine (3/19). When I click
on an old message header, the body pops right up. Perhaps it downloads a
fresh message body from the server when I click on the old header.

When it purges the messages it does not purge the header, just the message
body. The icon in front of the message should indicate that.
