is there an "optimal" cpu temp ???

I've updated my system with:
mb = msi p6n platinum
cpu = intel 6550
ram = 2 gig
heatsink/fan = zalman
video = 16550 pro w/512

When the antec sonata ii case fan is set to low, the cpu temp
is approx 29-30 C; when the case fan is set to medium, the
cpu temp is approx 38-39 C.

I have seen that the 40 C is ok but would 25-30 C be "too low"?

Haven't found a way to check the zalman fan speed as it only has
the 3 pin connection to the mb for the cpu fan instead of 4-pins.

Not a problem as just was curious.

The cooler, the better.

Within reason, you don't want to drop below the dew point. Not a
concern when you are fan-cooling, obviously, but it's a potential
concern in some cases.
