Is there a way to turn off review pane (globally) in Outlook 2000

It is very time consuming to go through and "turn off" the preview pane in
each of the new mail folders that I create within Outlook. Is there any way
to have the Preview Pane default to "off" rather than "on" in Outlook 2000?
If not, is this option available in any of the later versions (2003, XP) of
Outlook?

In a 12/3/2004 Reply to a similar query (sorry, I didn't see it before I sent
my query), Brian Tillman mentioned a registry key that could be changed to
turn off Preview Pane by default; BUT, it was addressing Outlook 2002/2003?
Is there a similar registry key available for Outlook 2000? If yes, do you
know the "key identification" and "value" to effect the change?

I don't know of a way, but perhaps someone else will post the solution.

the nopreview switch works in ol2000 - there is probably a reg key, but I
haven't used 2000 for some 5 years and forget what the registry key would be
or where to look.

Did you try the same key for 2000, changing the path as needed? if it
doesn't work, look in the 2000 ORK - the key should be in the outlook.adm
file. (or you could google for it)
