Is there a way to suppress the overwrite file dialog when exporting data to
an excel file that already exist. We are trying to automate the process
using macros and batch files.

How are you exporting the data? Which macro action are you wanting to run?
What type of data file are you creating during the export?

This question was asked by another person. But I have the same issue. I send
a file to excel from Access 2003, then it asks to overwrite a file exsiting
in excel. I need this file named this, because this file is linked to
another file that charts my test control information.

I was hoping to link a macro to the file being overwritten, that would open
the second file so this would open and display test control information.

Thank You

I have a report that i export to excel. In excel i have a file named the same
thing as my access report. So in my macro I tell it where to put my report in
Excel, then it ask me do you want to over write the file name? I would like
to keep a macro in this file, but if it overwrites i can't or is there
another way? thank you.

Hi Diane,

It sounds as if you want to export the contents of an Access report into
an existing Excel file. As far as I know that's not possible.

It is however possible to export data from a query into an existing
Excel file. Would that solve your problem?
