Is there a way to separate 1 name field into separate ones...

I have a database that uses LastName, GivenName and Initial as 3 separate
fields...

This office has a word document they want to import into that table...but
the name is not divided...it is 1 field...and can be (ie: Doe, John T. OR
Doe, John OR
Doe, John Thomas)...either combination...

You might want to try this. Save the Word document as a text file. Then open
your database
and click File>Get External Data>Import
At the bottom of the Import window in the Files of Type select Text files
and browse to find
your previously saved text file.
A wizard will open that should be pretty self explanatory.

Thanks Ed....I actually had problems with saving it as a text file with the
formatting so I copied it all into notepad...saved it...and then used the
import wizard in Access...but it still didn't allow me to break the name up
into 3 separate fields...it called the whoole name section Field 1.
