Is there a way to lock objects in PP?

I need to re-create an isometric drawing in PP. Is there a way I can scan the
iso, drop it into a slide as a background, lock it and draw on top of it? I
could easily do this in Illustrator but I'm limited to using PP for this
project.

I'm open to any ideas.

To get an image as background
Format > Background
In the drop down below the little slide image scroll choose "fll effects"
Picture tab, select and OK out

Thanks! Worked great, I didn't think about that.

Is there a way to lock down objects so you can draw/modify objects close to
them?

Not sure what you're asking. You may mean that objects snap to each other?

This can be turned off in view > grids and guides.
