Hi
A friend of mine has 2 PC's in his office (both running winXP Pro)
They are both linked via a router to share an internet connection (broadband
modem connected to router via ethernet cable).
Up until recently he could also share files between the two PC's and share a
printer. Now the only thing thats working is the shared internet connection.
He can no longer see files across the network nor can he print over the
network. We have to manually plug the printer in directly to each machine
when required.
I guess that somehow the network settings have been corrupted and I need to
start again from fresh.
He doesnt have a manual for the router and I havent been able to find any
info about it on the net either. Is there a way to access a router using a
generic address or a way to find out which is the correct address?
If anyone could direct me to a web site or a good book with instructions on
how to set up a simple network like this I'd be very grateful. Thanks for
your time.
