Is there a way to have a Connect To VPN icon on the desktop?

Is there a way in Vista to create a shortcut icon to connect to a specific
VPN so I don't have to climb through the Start Menu to the Connect To
option, and then click "Connect"?

Also, is there a way to have a VPN connection established at boot time?

Nothing new from XP. Just open Network Connections and drag your VPN
connection to the desktop. To open Network Connections, click Start button,
type "net conn" without quotes in Start Search box and you'll see the
shortcut at the top of the search results.

I don't know if there are easier ways but you could try using "rasdial
CONNECTION_NAME" command in a startup script using gpedit.msc (need to be
run elevated).

On my Ultimate RTM version of Vista, typing "net conn" in the Start, Search
box shows only "Connect to a network projector"...

Tom,

OK then, you can get to Network Connections from Network and Sharing Center
found in Control Panel.

Or invoke Run prompt by pressing "Windows logo key"+R together, type in
"NCPA.CPL" without quotes and press Enter.
