Is there a way to hare an alarm repeat until it is acknowledged?

When I'm at home, I'd like to have my Outlook alarms go off periodically
until I acknowledge them. That way, if I'm in another room when the alarm
goes off, it will keep going off at some regular interval until I clear the
alarm or hit snooze (and after the snooze period, the alarm would again
repeat until cleared).

Is there a way to do this?

Use a rule to play a sound, then select a rather longish .wav sound that you
can create yourself.

There is myriad of freeware alarm programs on the 'net that would seem
better suited to this task.

Thanks Brian, but unfortunately, I'm want to be able to use Outlook so that I
can send appointments from work (where we use Outlook) to home and back just
by adding an attendee to the appointment. That way appointments that both my
wife and I need to know about can show up in both places.

I had heard that there was some way to have the alarm repeat using Outlook,
but I haven't been able to find anything on how to do it.

As far as I know, Outlook has no alarms. It has reminders, but no alarms.
You can snooze your reminders for the needed interval or you can have
recurring reminders.
