I am trying to insert a song into my Powerpoint slideshow as background music
that will continually play in the background uninterrupted from one slide to
the next. How do you do this without the music stopping inbetween slides, and
having to insert the file in each individual slide?

Michael O, here is a way to add "background sound":
Right click on the music icon
Choose 'Custom Animation'
The 'custom animation' bar will pop up on the right
Right click on the 'musicfile.mp3'
Choose 'Effect Option'
In the 'Effect' tab, you can pick on when to start and stop playing.
If you wanna play it thru the entire slideshow, then just put the last slide
number.

Ummm - A little correction.... the number of slides is not the number of
consecutive slides in the presentation, it is the number of slides that are
played. Say you have a 15 slide presentation in which slides 3 to 9 loop
three times before continuing. You would need to set the number of slides
to at least 24 to get the music to play through to the end.

if we live without making a difference, it makes no difference that we lived
