I am working with imported data and I need the information in every 4th cell
for a different worksheet. How can I do this.

Ctrl-select with the mouse, then copy and paste.

Assuming that Sheet1, A2:A100, contains the data, try the following...

1) To return every 4th cell, starting with the first cell in the range...

C2, copied down:

=INDEX(Sheet1!$A$2:$A$100,ROWS($C$2:C2)*4-4+1)

2) To return every 4th cell, starting with the fourth cell in the
range...

C2, copied down:

=INDEX(Sheet1!$A$2:$A$100,ROWS($C$2:C2)*4)

Hope this helps!

Thanks Domenic. This worked well. The first answer was too difficult
because I have a few thousand entries to sort through but your formula worked
well.

helper column>this formula copied down>filter on result>copy
=MOD(ROW(1:1),2)=0
or adapt this

Sub SelectEveryOtherRow()
Dim rng1 As Range
Dim rng2 As Range
For Each r In Range("a1:a21")
If r.Row Mod 2 = 1 Then
If rng2 Is Nothing Then
Set rng2 = rng1
Else
Set rng2 = Union(rng2, rng1)
End If
Set rng1 = r
End If
Next
rng2.Copy Range("g1")
End Sub
