Thanks. I am doing slides of vocabulary and there are
about 60 per lesson. Will I have to do that to each
slide or can I go to the Master and add custom animation
there? Sorry. I haven't looked yet. I apologize for
that.

Sure, it's possible. Here's the instructions for an
Entrance effect in
PowerPoint 2002 and PowerPoint 2003
1) Select object to animate
2) Slide Show -> Custom Animation
3) Click on Add Effect -> Entrance -> More Effects....
4) Select "Random Effects" from the "Basics" section of
the dialog and
click "OK"
