Is there a symbol for congruence? If so, where?

Generically, yes. If you'll remind me what it looks like, I can point you to
the exact location.

Okay, I thought that was the symbol for "is approximately equal to" (same as
the wavy equals sign), but it's been a long time since I've done this. You
can find that symbol as character 0064 in the symbol font or as glyph 2245
in the Arial Unicode MS font (Mathematical Operators subset), where it is
described as "approximately equal to." For various methods of inserting
these characters, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/InsertSpecChars.htm

Okay, I thought I vaguely remembered it was the triple equals sign. That
would be glyph 2261 ("Identical to") in "(normal text)" of most
moderate-sized Unicode fonts. It is also available as character 0186 in the
Symbol font.
