MICROSOFTSUCKS

Instead of nice small dockable toolbars..We get this ENORMOUS POS "Ribbon"
that takes up half of the monitor! Instead of being able to see all the tool
icons in a glance...I HAVE TO SEARCH through multiple menus on the "F"ing
Ribbon" to find anything! I HATE MICROSOFT>>>SO MUCH MY NEXT COMPUTER IS
GOING TO BE A MAC! Just cause I HATE this bullcrap!

So, I'm guessing that you don't like the ribbon :)

(Don't tell anyone, but I kinda feel the same way. What took me 10 minutes
in my old highly customized interface now takes me 15, even after working
with the ribbon for quite a while.)

There are a few options, of course, that may or may not help...

1. Downgrade back to PowerPoint 2003. With the compatibility pack, you can
view and edit "most" of the contents from 2007 presentations. There are a
number of problems in switching back and forth between versions, but it is
mostly workable.

2. Purchase an independent add-in created to restore the dockable menu
aspect of the interface in 2007. Patrick did an amazing job, very shortly
after 2007 was released, of offering this tool. He listened to what users
were saying and offered a solution to their (and your) pain.

3. Use the QAT for your most common commands. This is a bit like saying,
"live with it, " but it is an option. The ribbon does get easier after you
wade thru the click paths for a while, but it still requires the user to
move the mouse around a lot more and switch between the keyboard and mouse
more.

What I have done to solve this, is keep both versions available on my
various machines. That way I have access to the enhanced content of 2007
and the control-ability of 2003.
