I am looking for a program that can "hide" other running programs from the
operating system processes list and the list of processes you can view by
pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del.

Does a program like this exist?

Thanks for your time.

No, and why would you want to do this ?

Obviously I intend to overthrow the government, so it's a good thing you
didn't answer my question.

Seriously though, let me create a hypothetical situation. Let's say first
of all that I don't like downloading "Spy" programs or Internet Filtering
Programs.

Let's say second of all that I have a room mate who ruined his own computer
with viruses, trojans, worms, etc.

Thirdly let's say that this room mate now uses my computer, and that he
frequents a certain kind of website that neither the college nor my
girlfriend is happy to see listed in my history folder.

Fourthly let's assume that this room mate is a pathological liar and refuses
to admit to visiting any of these websites with the questionable content.

Fifthly let's say I wrote a basic script for Autoit that will press the
"Print Screen" button and paste the image into a folder every 5 minutes, and
I would like to run this program while I'm at class without my room mate
being able to ctrl+alt+del and end Autoit and everything else except for
explorer.exe and the system processes.

So what I'm looking for is a program that will "hide" the Autoit process in
the processes list.

Now that you know I'm not going to build a nuclear bomb would you be willing
to answer my question?

The answer is still no - you cannot hide a process from Task Manager.
Of course the ability to stop/kill as task depends on your level of access
to the system,. So if your job that is printing the screens or whatever is
not running under a security context that the other person can effect then
there is no need to hide anything since they will not be able to do anything
about it, sort of turning off the PC.

However if you let you friend have full admin access to your PC then you
have given up all control.

Nevermind, I found an app that hides system processes.

Why not just prevent your roommate using your computer? It is your computer,
right? I never let roommates use mine back in the olden days (granted, there
was no WWW then), nor use my really good German chef's knives, etc. You
don't have to share *everything*. :-)
