Hi:

(This is about win98se, not win2000)
I know about regedit, which lets you see and edit the current
registry. I use it all the time.
But I can multiboot into two old 98se setups, plus my current
98se and also XP . I would like to delete the 2 old 98 partitions,
but I would like to save copies of the old user.dat and system.dat
files for possible future reference. (Plus save a bunch of other files
from the old setups.)
Is there a program out there that will let you look at older
user.dat and system dat files? I'm sure that regedit is only for the
current user and system dat files.

There's a lot of info on old settings that I might want access to
in the future.
But I don't dare go into dos and swap the old user and dat files
for my current ones. They might destroy my current setup, whjich is
VERY different than the old setups.
I just want to be able to access the old setups to see how they
were configured, without interferring with my current setup.

Maybe its not possible. But if anyone knows of a program
out there, I would sure appreciate it. I don't need to edit or clean
the old registries, I just want to be able to view what their settings
were.

Thanks very much.

Give it a go with regedt32.exe. I've no idea really. I'd ask them here.
