Is there a problem with TZEDIT?

I ran the TZEDIT utlilty on my W2K PC several weeks ago and all was fine. It
even made the transition to EDT. However, this morning, around 9AM, my
system clock inexplicably advanced an hour to 10AM. It even still thinks
it's in EDT. I've just checked with a couple of colleagues with similar
setups and it happened on another two machines that I know of.

Is there a problem with the utility?

Did someone advance the server you connect to by an hour to "match up"
the time?

Nope. It's a free-floating notebook that doesn't rely on any external
server other than an ISP's. How could that affect my system clock anyway?

Simple guess based on normal circumstances and the lack of information
in your post.

I have subsequently tried to manually adjust the time with both the date/time
control panel and the time utility at the command prompt. In both cases, the
time advanced back after about 15 minutes. Rebooting doesn't have any effect.

I'm not quite sure where to go next, here. Does anyone have any ideas.

That would point to the computer getting a time signal externally.
But, from where? I don't have any of the time (or even Windows) update
services running. This condition of changing back to the wrong time occurs
when the notebook is disconnected from any network. What services should I
be looking at?

Absolutely no connection to anything, no Internet, no wireless or cable
connection to any other system? Then I would check the BIOS clock.
Otherwise?!?

Yes, connected to nothing.

I didn't think the TZEDIT patch would affect the BIOS clock. But I can
check to make sure.
