Is there a problem with my Graphics Card???

I use alot of graphics programs, for example Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

When I try to move things about on the screen in Illustrator the screen freezes up and I get an hour glass. About 30 seconds later (sometimes a minute) the program continues again.

Most of the time, if I can't wait for the program to continue, I can get the screen to work again by disconnecting from the internet. For some reason this jogs the program into life again.

But it's annoying having to disconnect, reconnect everytime I want my program to continue working.

Another problem I have is when I open a folder in Windows explorer and view alot of image files as thumbnails or filmstrip. The Window sometimes closes down automatically without displaying the thumbnails, or Explorer can't function and I need to 'end program'.

I am figuring that it is a very slow graphics card issue. I can't think what else is the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas??

Could well be ... them 2MB cards are pretty crap when it comes to graphics ... I would get a 32MB one if I were you.

could be a combination of a slow CPU and not enough RAM or a fragmented HD, whats your systems specs ?

Hi

3.2Ghz HT Pentium Processor
2GB RAM
ATI Radeon x300 SE 128MB PCI-E

Can anyone recommend a link to a spyware / adware download where I don't have to subscribe/register? I'd like to try that. Maybe it will help.

I recently system restored my PC because I was having these problems before, but I still have the same problems, so I'm wondering if the Graphics Card is inadequate.

Your eyes are as bad as my "mind reading" ... for the record, I was being my sarcastic self. :p

It's bad enough to get a first time poster tell you of his 'problems' and you don't even know if they have a PC ... someone who has 100 post should have read the Forum Guidelines by now.

I need a holiday. :D
