We have some laptops that do a domain logon. THe domain GP is that they
can't change anything in the Control Panel (can't even load it). However, we
need to be able to let these remote people change theior power settings.
Where in the W2K GP can I let them run (and save) the Power settings?

TIA,

You have to push a registry hack to the laptops. I am pretty sure that you
can do this with GPO. The key is
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls
Folder\PowerCfg. If you set the security on this to allow users full
permission then everyone who uses the laptops can change the power
preferences. It is a pain in the butt but I know it works.

You can do this with GPO. If you add the registry key to the registry
section of the GP you can then get to the permissions for the key. I would
use advanced rather then full control so that you can only give them write
permissions to the keys.
