I'm trying to see if there's any type of hardware log in WinXP which
will tell me if any type of device was connected or disconnected.

I have a projector thats connected to my desktop and I have co-workers
that borrow it, is there any way of looking at a log to see what time
it was disconnected? Connection was probably a VGA DB15/HD15??

Doubtful if this would be logged, one thing you can do though is to check the lamp hours on the
projector. Most projectors keep track of the amount of time on the bulbs so they can notify of
replacement time. Its usually a menu item on the projector. It won't tell you when they took it
but will let you now how long they ran it for.

You can set XP up to log ("audit") just about any event but
disconnecting a monitor deesn't bother the OS so you're out of luck,

Most mobile equipment has provision for lockdown with cables made by
Kensington and others. I know I've seen projectors that can take
them.
