I'm looking for a FREEWARE program that uses the soundcard to send and
receive audio signals to and from a TTY machine - for communicating with
the deaf over a phone line. Each Letter has its own unique sound - like a
touch-tone phone does.

Unfortunately, The only one I have found so far is Shareware.

This one is (kind of) free in those features.

If the standard is the same (and it seems to be, I've seen 45.45 baud
and baudot code mentioned), then an amateur radio RTTY program, of
which there are several free, might be a possible solution - it would
need saome adaptation, and you'd need a speaker/mic cradle to put the
phone handset into, as they normally use the soundcard.

Thank you. I'll give it a go. Much appreciated.

On 31 Mar 2004 I could have sworn I heard P N P sing a little song and
the words went something like this:

No. CallTTY. Although I was trying to avoid mentioning it by name as it
would be OT. :)
would you be referring to MMTTY ?
