Is there a freeware "Hall of Fame"?

I mean something like the voting counts when programs are being
considered for Pricelessware.
(Unless I'm missing something the vote counts eventually disappear.)
Something that might persuade friends that freeware will cover all their
needs.
(Do you reckon it would for most people?)

Here's the home page.

Sorry, I'm new here. I don't know much about the Pricelessware web page.

For a VERY CONDENSED list of my picks of the best Freeware, visit my page at

Sorry, I'm new here. I don't know much about the Pricelessware web page.

www.pricelessware.org will get you there - that's where the voting
results and the descriptions, downloads etc are found for those
programmes we ave voted on as best of the year.

I had never heard of the above site - it seems weird, and found it
difficult to see any actual freeware - certainly nothing recent there,
after a 5 minute look - maybe I am missing something ?

It seems to be centred around one person, and be a list of articles
from a bulletin board from the past - maybe even the forerunner of acf
?

cheers

They do disappear from the *site* but you can Google for the PL voting
threads.

There was a thread about this not too long ago (wish I could think of
the Subject heading) - IIRC some posters used all freeware, more used
*mostly* freeware. Posters listed the freeware programs they use . . .
You could ask the question again . . .

Pricelessware is a pretty good start. I don't know of any other
similar site, although there may be many personal favorites sites out
there.

I think that almost all computing needs can be had with freeware, from
open source operating systems to small utilities. There are a few
problem areas, mostly with commercial code, like .pdf utilities and
such. Overall, you'll find some really great programs offered
selflessly to the world at large in this area.
