Is there a find & replace feature in the Design View of a Report

I am trying to replace some details in an Access Report, but am unable to do
so quickly by using a find and replace. Is there such a feature or at least
something like it?

Not sure what you mena. A report is just a picture of data that is designed
to be printed. You can't change anything on it.

You change data in forms or queries.

I have changed the elements of the query that feeds the report and I needed
to quickly change the report to reflect the new items in the query. For
example, in the query, I have several elements that have 2004 (year) and I
switched it to LY (for Last Year) so that I don't have to create a new report
every year. The report has the old elements with 2004 and rather than choose
from the drop down list in the properties menu for each of the items on the
report, I wanted to quickly switch them out.

I'm sorry, I'm not following you. The term "element" is not an Access term.
Please tell us specifically what you are doing. You say you have elements
that have 2004 and you switched it to LY. Are you saying you chnaged some
of the data in the records? A report would reflect that change. Or did you
change some field names in a table and you want to correct the labels in the
report?

More details please.

Firstly, thank you for your help. I have changed the field names from 2004
to LY on the tables that feed the report. The report reflects the old field
names and I wish to change them to the new field names. Making a new report
would be more time consuming than changing the individual field names.

tks,

Ah, I f it were me, I'd just open the report in design view and delete the
old control, then drag the new one down from the field picker.

The alternative is to open the control's property box and change the name
and also the label. The data source is corrected for you by Access.

I just went into Northwinds and changed the name of one of my fields. The
report that included that field was updated with the new field name as the
control source. The only thing that did not change is the label and the
name of the field.

Since many people modify the lables, Access does not simply write over them
when you change a field's name in the table.

I tried that, but the control field did not change. Could that be because I
am using a query for the report as opposed to directly from a table? Maybe
it could be that I am using Access 2000. If that is the case, then I'll have
to continue changing the properties for each of the controls.
Thank you for your time and help.
