im shopping for a lap top for school and i have two
choices. what's the difference between microsoft windows
professional edition and microsoft windows XP Pro? if
there is a difference. please help, thanks.

When one refers to "XP Pro" they are referring to Microsoft Windows XP
Professional Edition.

XP professional edition and microsoft windows XP Pro are two words for the
same thing, the two diferences are XP Home Edition and XP Professional
Edition

Home edition is cheaper!
