Is there a complete explanation to .config files

I am looking for the explanation of the all parts in the any .config file
either web.config or app.config file. Not necessary but may also be
machine.config file. Is there an article for this ??

There are a couple of sections on MSDN.

Then I check each of the classes System.Configuration namespace to get the
'specifics' on how the classes work for defining custom sections in the
app.config file.
