Tried posting a reply to Sindi - RE: Updates, etc initial post of that thread
Dated Monday, July 05, 2004 11:33 PM (MDT). First message was downloaded and
showed in the thread, but was "removed from server" (???)

OK, tried posting it again, and again. Three times. Shows up in my sent
folder everytime, but not at the NG.

OK, tried to Ping someone (twice), and included that failed post within it.
It too shows up in the sent folder but not in the NG.

What th'...?

So, this is just a test. If I have consistent problems, I'll post to OE
newsgroup.

Hi LuckyStrike :-)
Well this worked, but of what use is it? I'm trying to reply to
someone,... not do a test for cryin' out loud. :-|

It may be running slow today, may be a heavy load first day after a long
holiday weekend. I've noticed some of mine are not showing up for a while
too. :-|

Jan :)

Yeah, I tried pinging you twice which had the contents a reply (very lengthy
~ 5 KB) to Sindi which I wanted you to try posting. It didn't work, I then
Pinged Sindi myself and it doesn't appear.

You say yours are slow appearing also? But they eventually show up then I'd
guess. About how long is it taking? It can't be an hour. Plus, my first
reply did show up, but upon trying to open it, it couldn't be displayed,
message may have been removed from the server, blah-blah. :-\\

I've tried like 5 or 6 times. Well, no good deed goes unpunished, or so I am
told. ;-\

Pinging? I didn't see any or I would've, of course. I've tried e-mailing
you 3 times today, and nothing yet. Did you not get the one I sent again
late last evening either?
Or did I get the Royal Spam dunked again? Oh well.... said:

Hmm...strange. Wonder if anyone else if having the problem. I have not seen
any of mine blanked out. Why...what at did you say?? said:

Yeah. That's why I hesitate to do good deeds. <g>

I don't know what the is wrong with that post, but it took me a good 40
minutes to work it out, get the links, provide extra stuff, and
then...kerblooey...nothing but nothing worked. Sheesh.

Pings too; neither to you or Sindi. Again.....sheesh!

I dunno, I might be dumping them. If they are "$23885", "lose 50 pounds in a
week", "Viagra at cost", or some such they get the 'ol heave-ho! <g>
.....Where are you writing to? That is a totally munged addy which I use. If
you are sending there, they should be bounced back. lemme know.

I have had that happen, in the cnews. ng, for the Corel Draw ngs. It would
sometimes never show, then sometimes, it would spring up 2-3 days later. Oh
well...better late than never. And a couple of mine were blanked too. And I
didn't say anything against Corel. ??

Welllll noo..I wouldn't be writing *that* kind of stuff. The one below your
signature. Is that not your *other*
'non-personal-I-get-to-it-once-every-6-months..or-so' one? None of them
came back to me. ???

Yeah... I know what you mean... I didn't bad-mouth MS. In fact, I supplied
further support for MS and use of certain features of OE as a newsreader,
etc. Guess it's just very touchy that's all. We'll see if all bandwidth
consuming 50 posts show up at once in 3 days or so. said:

Ix-nay; it is a total figment of my and Tom Waits imagination. <g>
see this song that I wrote without Toms help spoot At frontiernet dot net
remember to add some identifying feature or else.... zip...out it goes. As
to where they *are* going remainsa total mystery..., unless someone has
elected to use it themselves insasmuch as it is a cool (IMO) addy. But the
amount of characters may be a bit to numerous to be accepted.

Well...they can keep all their fancy schmancy readers, I have tried several,
and I like OE. It's easy, takes little to operate, which is good when I'm
working in my sleep, and gives me little if any trouble. Twix me and Cox, I
have no viruses, only a few spams first round only, then Cox blips them
next time. I don't like worms, so none are allowed. Not into Roman history,
so no Trojan's allowed. I use both IE and Foxfire 0.91. And lots of toys
for each. said:

Oh. W'll......stands to reason that it would not work since it's just a
figment of your imagination. It's ahh...yeah....catchy....ya might say.
:-))

Yeah....there's often too many characters around here too to be accepted. I
try to keep them to a minimum. I have prized Hybrid Giant Venus Flytraps all
around my house. My mail is delivered by US GoBot. Makes irradiated mail
look like child's play. My welcome mat says, Welcome! Enter At Your Own

Roflmao! "Not into Roman History..." said Jan. Lol!!!

I've had Foxfire 0.9.1 installed for awhile, but I did a custom install, and
said "don't import *anything*". That has made it a little difficult to use.
Probably I should un-install it (courtesy of Total Uninstall - a program I
cannot live without) and then allow it to "import my IE stuff". But I still
don't want it as my default browser; not yet anyway.

Yeh... a light bulb went on (filiment of my imagination), and I thought oh

I don't use the Foxfire for my default yet either, but, it wn't make much
difference. I've got just about everything in Foxfire that there is in IE,
with the extensions. Even more so in some cases. The only thing I don't have
yet it the Internet Spell Checker like I can have wtih IE, but, it's just a
matter of getting it set up for Foxfire too. It works for most all the
browsers. Kewllll. said:

Sheesh! If I'd known that ...I'd have started before Kindergarten! Then
bought my way into first grade......(rolling eyes)

Can one change from the cotton-candy Windows FP (Fisher Price) coloring to a
classic windows appearance? I've read that there were some changes possible
for the menu's, but hadn't noticed anything for the actual browser itself.
We'll have to cover some of this in depth...somewhere.Meanwhile...Well done Jan... I liked how you... y'know. ;-)

something. said:

Plain to see you are *not* an attorney or an accountant. Yeh... people get
the "big bucks" for that stuff. ;-D

There are some themes you can get in the Extension Catalog that we can use
to change the appearance. I have not had time to play with those toys yet.
:-) The one helpful extension is the one that tells you if your on a
spoofed site page. It tells you which page you're on. Really good to know
with all the pseudo sites out there.

An issue which arose just the other day. That is why some give plaudits to
Firefox over IE, plus the lack of ActiveX and Scripting (I think). You know
how I feel about the loose use of those items.

Do you know how to save a drowning lawyer?
Take your foot off his head.

What's the definition of a good tax accountant?
Someone who has a loophole named after him.

Later...

Sorta like Louie the Loophole, or like Nick the Nose, or Vinny DeVine??
