Is the newsgroup still working

Is the newsgroup still working? I have tried to post for
four days and not gotten through? I heard rumor that
Microsoft is closing down newsgroups?
 
This rumor is *not true*.

There have been problems with the newservers - primarily due to the amount
of spam caused by the Swen worm. Otherwise, the newsgroups are alive and
well.

Alive, maybe, but not well.

I'm getting lots of reply posts to messages without getting the originals.
That, or lots of posters are writing Re: in their subject line. :-(

But better than last week or 2 weeks ago :-)

I was getting alot of that a week or so ago but I've seen a big improvement
lately.
