Is the MX700 Wireless Duo worth it?

I had purchased this nice set of equipment expecting some quality
devices, and all I am getting is absolutely nothing but problems, and
I don't know what to do. I refuse to believe this won't work
correctly, but more and more my belief is wrong. One of the issues is
that the keyboard is missing letters... I'd be finished this post a
lot faster, if I wasn't going through and editing the typos that this
keyboard is generating.

Another thing is that sometimes the keyboard just wants to fail on me
while I am in game, not wanting me to open up my console and the such.

The mouse has some acceleration issues, which the mouseware more than
doubles, and you're left uninstalling and reinstalling just to make it
want to work remotely properly.

Moving in game with the mouse seems to make it jump around a tiny bit
[all game referances are Day of Defeat]. It looks like you're losing
FPS. I upgraded my video drivers, and that all but fixed it for one
session before rebooting, and this issue returning. Changing the
channels hasn't helped.

The cradle is a good 5 inches horizontal and 4 inches vertical from
the keyboard, and it hardly compares to my wired...

In the long run is this worth it? It's such a nice piece of
equipment, and it'd be better if worked without an issue. I like the
mouse, but at this point with the problems it's causing me I'm about
to take it back.

i got the logitech MX DUO cordless desktop and it`s fantastic....
never had a problem with it.
seems like yours is farked.....

<snip>

I've only got the mouse as I don't really like wireless keyboards.

I think it's excellent and I've had no problems with it in games or
otherwise.

But you MUST download the latest software/drivers for it from the website
don't use the buggy crap that comes on the CD.

I'd suggest you should probably do the same for the keyboard.

Sounds like a reciever issue... Logitech makes good stuff, but I wish you
LOTS of luck dealing with their tech support. It took over 6 months to RMA a
wireless mouse and they kept sending me recievers and not mice. This
happened TWICE.

Try the following:
- switch to USB/PS2 ports (whatever you arent using)
- move reciever, try many locations.
- different batteries. Low batteries can do what you're saying.
- different room. Got a cordless phone or fluorescent/halogen light nearby?
Could be interference.

One question... The mouse has a cradle to charge in. Where do you recharge
the keyboard???

One more question. When will Logitech make a NICE wireless ergo keyboard and
MX700 combo? All I can find is the straight keyboard & MX700 or a nice ergo
keyboard and crappy mouse.
