Now is a great time to point you to one of the easiest ways to find
information on problems you may be having and solutions others have found:

Search using Google!
http://www.google.com/
(How-to: http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/basics.html )

Check the manuals for the system...
http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Gateway/600YG2/3501373nv.shtml
and
http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Gateway/600YG2/3501372sp3.shtml

Likely by a Type II or III PCMCIA cardbus card...
http://www.google.com/search?&q=PCMCIA+"USB+2.0"+cardbus

In case - with all that information at your fingertips - you still cannot
figure it out...

No - you have USB 1.1.
Yes - you can buy a PCMCIA Type II or III cardbus adapter for USB 2.0
functionality.

Thanks so if I buy one of those all I need to do is put that card
into the slot where the wireless card would go?

And likely install software drivers.

So you would be sacrificing wireless for USB 2.0?

I think that laptop may be getting a bit on in age. ;-)

Unless you see yourself using firewire (most people likely have not/will
not)... I would not bother with the ones that have Firewire as well.

The spec that I read says it may have 2 empty slots. Though I got
email from seller and was told it does have USB 2 so who knows what to
expect.
