I'm looking to get a used PCI video card real cheap, like under $20.
What I'm using now for video is the built in video on my Intel D865GVHZ
motherboard. Its "okay", but sometimes when the system gets bogged
down, windows slowly peeel away. Plus its sharing my main RAM memory (I
have 512 but it only says 496mb upon bootup!), and I don't like that. I
don't ever play games, I mostly use the computer for web surfing,
browsing through my file system, opening (usually small) 2D
applications, like Directory Opus. I can get the ATI RAGE XL for about
$25US. What I'm wondering is if the ATI RAGE XL 8mb is going to give me
faster performance than the built in video in my Intel board, or is 8mb
simply not enough to make me see a difference?
