About a week ago another poster noted that Win2K is entering the sunset
phase of its life. Microsoft will publish fixes for critical bugs only.

Think about it. Why would Microsoft expend the resources to make IE 7 run
on a Windows version that they don't want you to run any more? What's in
it for them? Why would they want to give you a reason not to buy Vista,
or at least XP?
