Is SyncToy 2.0 for Vista supposed to be automatic?

I created my folder pair, but SyncToy doesn't do anything unless I
manually go in there and tell it to sync the pair up. I am upset it
won't the sync without waiting for me. As long as the computer is
relatively idle, sync away.

Actually, all I really want is for a folder to appear in two locations
at once. Neither is a partition, but both are on my local drive.

I did with "idle" as the trigger. But I don't see a way to keep it from
running too often. I figure it doesn't have to run more than every few
hours. I don't want it running just because the system is idle.

Have you considered making it a scheduled task?

You can use the scheduler to have it run every 'x' hours or even on
fixed times. If you need more complicated control, then you may have to
look for paid software with more features. SyncToy is just the basics.
Sofware such as ViceVersa have the ability to control their priority
levels.

See Andrew's reply as it it what I would have replied had I gotten there
first. :-)
