Hi,
Switched to Mozilla Thunderbird for email a few weeks ago.
Generally I like it but the past week it seems that when I send an
email the program hangs for 15-30 seconds before successfully sending
the message.
Is this typical or might I have a setting wrong?

TIA

Larry,
Are you by any chance using Kerio Personal Firewall?

Or any firewall which blocks ident/auth on Port 113?

Thunderbird is a lovely idea, but everything about it is slow. Slow to
start. Slow to answer a letter. Slow to open a letter to write. Slow to
check the address book. Slow to mail. I hope the developers consider this
issue, before they add more gimcracks.
