Is Remote Desktop Secure?

I would like to use Remote Desktop with a wireless public router, but
I am concerned that someone will be able to intercept my username,
password, or capture screenshots of my desktop. Can someone tell me
if Remote Desktop is secure even if there is no security between the
wireless nic and the router? Thanks in advance.

I would say unless you are on a VPN connection then no, nothing on the
internet is secure. That's why VPN (and like items) were invented.
Or an SSL site (hppts:// type of addresses).

if you are using remote desktop with a server like 2003. Then you can
configure RDP to use TLS. This uses a certificate to encrypt traffic.

XP there is no way to encrypt it.
