Is printer necessary to access page setup in EXCEL?

On my laptop when I go to file/page setup I receive a pop-up that indicates I
have not installed a printer. Is it necessary to intall a printer to access
page setup or print preview in EXCEL. All other microsoft programs allow
access. Please help!!
 
Hello:

The best solution I have found is to install a printer on your portable.
The printer I install is Microsoft Office Document Image Writer, which
is part of MS Office. It comes in very handy if you want to print
but don't have a printer attached. You essentially print to a file
and you can print the file later to a real printer if you wish.
It is also handy for capturing web pages, confirmation pages,
emails, when you don't have an actual printer attached.
