Is printer config affecting deployment?

I have been having numerous printer issues in an
application distributed to numerous client systems. In the
lastest, my app will not auto select the loaded paper bin
of an hp2100 even though the printer at the client site is
configured to do so. When I open the print dialogue from
my access app, the printer property for paper source says
to use tray 1 instead of auto select. I am thinking this
is because my printer on my development system has only
one paper tray. I do not see a way to modify that printer
property from access. What I am wondering is whether I
should be de-configuring my development printer before I
make the deployment media. This might also explain some of
the issues I see when a client printer is configured to
spool or print direct. Has anyone else had similar
problems or know of a better way to handle printers when
an access app is distributed to many people?

Thanks,
Jerry

Steve,

Thanks for the information, that's what I thought was
happening. It does seem though, there ought to be a better
way to deal with this issue when distributing apps...I'm
concerned now that the small Lexmark I use on my
development system has so few options available that this
same type of issue is very likely to come up again. What
do you think would result if I removed my printer before
making my distribution mde? Since I use the windows
printer dialogue for all prints, I wonder if users would
then simply have to choose a printer each time and then
use it as it is configured. I think I need to do some
testing on that one.

Thanks.
