Is PP 2007 a work horse?

Can PP 2007 handle 12 .wav files and about 500 .jpg or .bmp files? I'd much
prefer making my presentation in PP 2007 than Movie Maker 2, but I don't know
if it can handle the job?
 
It depends more on your PC than PowerPoint. If you have enough horsepower in
the PC, it should be able to handle it.

An easy trick for managing a large presentation like what you're describing
is to create multiple presentations and then string them together in a
playlist.
