is possible remove a disck if is connect at pc by usb

if I connect a disck IDE by special connector to USB port
and the power is take by pc's power,
can I remove the disck from usb connector if I not turn off the
power of the disck?

USB/IDE adaptors are allowed to be unplugged with out powering down the
drive first but only on the USB side of the adaptor, not the IDE side.

One note of caution, if you are using a form of Windows XP you need to first
click on the "safely remove hardware" icon and tell it stop the drive before
you unplug the USB connector.

Using the "safely remove hardware" feature of XP you are actually telling XP
to stop using the drive, not the drive to power itself down. If you do not
do this before unplugging the USB connector sooner or later you will
scramble the data on the hard drive.

Yes, always unplug the USB before turning off the power.

I don't know what you mean.

Step one: Safely remove disk
Step two: Unplug USB
Step three: Turn off power

if I have the disk on removable case (sledge)
I haven't the botton for turn off power.
