is outlook 2002 contact list stored in .pst?

I rebuilt my machine and only copied the pst file, but still have a contact
list.
I did not have a .pab and I thought thats where this info was stored. Does
my version of outlook store this in the .pst because I never had a .pab file.

All Outlook data is in the .pst file.
