Hey guys was running w2k on desktop sent comp to fix it man cameback wiped
clean. No longer have key numbers, ran key finder but its totaly wiped clean.
Q is, is my disc useless now, or is there another way to retrive it from disc
instead

Key is not on/in the cd, its on the cd case, usually an orange sticker
marked 'do not lose'
If win2k was supplied pre installed on your sys its possible there is a
sticker on the PC case.
If you can supply proof of purchase of a retail version of win2k MS may
supply a new key, other than that find someone with win2k cd and use their
key

Thanks DL lost the sticker long long time ago in house move, is it possible
to use another key as you suggest them run key finder to find original
number?

Cheers dave i also have lap top with w2k can i use the key numbers from that
to reload

If you have an OEM key it should work with any OEM media; but IIRC not all
Windows 2000 OEM media would work with any hardware so your mileage may
vary.

There is no product activation or trial period with Windows 2000.
