How do I tell if my RAM is OK? I just installed 4 gig of RAM from Crucial in
my Dell XPS desktop (3 ghz). I also installed Vista Home. I'm having some
problems installing an application, and wanted to narrow down if it's Vista
or bad RAM.
The install problem is I am installing Pinnacle Studio upgrade V11. If the
setup starts automatically, and I give the setup.exe permission to run, Vista
crashes, I get a blue screen, and Vista reboots automatically. If I browse
to the DVD, and run the setup.exe as an administrator, Windows explorer locks
up (not responding message), then Vista locks up, and I have to hard boot.
Explorer reads the DVD just fine. I can see all the files on the DVD.
