Is my IE corrupt?

I took the advice of downloading and running both Ad-ware
6 and Spybot, although now my IE runs sluggish. Also I
can't get to web-sites that I know are there, I
get "cannot find server" and other error messages. Has my
IE been corrupted by the spyware? Is there a way to
reinstall or fix it without doing a major overhaul? Any
help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

with no results...

Try Hijack This, as follows:

Go to:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")

Next, go to the below location: Spyware and Hijackware Removal Support.
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/index.php?s=8a236cdf61469fbad3bddbe810be0374&act=SF&f=11

Sign in, then copy and paste both files in your message.

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

A sluggish IE caused by a HOSTS? A "bad" HOSTS, Henri <g>
A "good" HOSTS makes IE run faster not sluggish.

FWIW -

ABT ;)
