is my firewall blocking windows updates?

Hello,
I'm running XP Pro sp2 and not receiving automatic updates - it is
turned on and when I go to the update web page there are updates ready to
download. Could my firewall (Outpost 2.5) be blocking the updates? If so,
what service needs to be allowed and to where?

eg. is it svhost and address 111.111.111.111?

Did you try turning off your firewall and then downloading the updates? It
is possible for the firewall to prevent updating. Depending on the firewall
being used, you might be able to configure it to accept downloads or remote
access from the Windows update site.

Several other posters here have seen reported this and I can see it as
well. It may take some days until the AU provides the updates, maybe
because due to the mayn download requests on the WU servers.
