Hello,

My actual situation is, server (Win2K adv) at one side connected to WWW via
USB-modem, other side connected to LAN via NIC.

I have setup my DHCP-server according following instructions;
http://www.wown.info/j_helmig/win2ksvr.htm
http://www.wown.info/j_helmig/w2kdhcpi.htm (installatie)
http://www.wown.info/j_helmig/w2kdhcpc.htm (configuratie)

How do I know if my DHCP-service give IP's to my LAN or to the WWW?
How do I accomplish that the DHCP-service give's IP to my LAN when I replacd
my usb-modem by a ethernet-modem. If possible, give me a hands-on tutorial
or something.

TIA

You shouldn't have your server connected directly to the
Internet without a firewall. You can install a software
firewall on the server to block traffic on the modem. I
would suggest though that you move to broadband connection
that you buy a firewall appliance, that way you can avoid
multiple NIC's in the server and greatly increase your
security. In fact most small firewall appliances will
have a built in DHCP function and allow you to remove DHCP
from your server.

hi dear. i read your quostion carefully and see you make a big wrong in the instalation . you get the subnetmask wrong. if correct it that reform
