Hi,

I was just wondering if more than one video camera at a
time can be conferenced using windows messenger V6?

Is this preogram at all suitable for use a
videoconferencing tool? Is it fairly stable and trouble-
free?

Thanks

Greetings Rich,

Unfortunately Messenger only supports one-on-one video conferencing, so if you mean
conversations with 3+ people, then no.

It's suitable, and is stable -- as long as the person you're conversing with is either on the
same network, or you have an unobstructed Internet connection (that is with a public IP and
not a restrictive firewall) it will be trouble-free. If either side is on a NAT/Router (or
some type of shared Internet access) or some type of firewall is where you *might* find
difficulty.

you can do mutlipoint calls with Windows Messenger 5.0 (SIP) if you have a SIP capable MCU (multipoint control unit) which will allow multi-user (>3 participant) calls. We find it works well but you need at least ADSL bandwidth levels for good quality
